A friend of mine just told me about this blog. I havn't read Audrey's full story yet. I only got to February, I think, when I was reminded of WHO AM I? Who am I that our magnificent Father would take time to think of me? Who am I that he suffered and died for me? Who am I? I am his.
It is so easy to take God for granted and so easy to forget how badly I NEED God in my life. If you have time, read Audrey's story. It will change your life forever, I promise.
ANDREA UPDATE
Andrea has been living with us for seven weeks now (by herself!). If you are new to my blog I can't really take you back to Andrea's story. You will just have to ready my archives. Sorry, there are just lots of different posts about her story.
In short, at 17 she was in an automobile accident that left her with a severe brain injury. The brain injury is a very tricky thing. At first when people meet her, they don't notice, but she is like a forever teenager.
Are you kidding God? A teenager for LIFE! Since then I had back surgery that changed my life. I can no longer do the things I used to enjoy. Andrea has had a child, realized she couldn't raise the child and given him to me and my husband, married a drug dealer, gotten addicted to meth and lastly jumped out the window of her burning house and broke her back. There! Sounds like a soap doesn't it.
She is my cross to bear.
She has been clean (of meth) for 4 months now. She was addicted to methamphetamine when she broke her back. They call it the "DEVILS" drug. Aren't they all? This is the hardest one to quit but by God's grace she is doing it without rehab. Don't get me wrong, I know one moment can change it all. She is depending greatly on me and I am depending on God!
She is listening to me!!!! She is taking my advice!!!
She is still in pain from all of the nerve damage and will be on Neurotin for the rest of her life probably but to see her walking you can just barely tell.
She has been a wonderful help! She is my live in laundress! She is obsessive about laundry and I am obsessive about sweeping my floor. Just stop by and you will either catch me sweeping or her doing laundry! Anyways, she is starting to like herself again. She has dumped the "JERK" and really starting to use her head. She is putting Dylan first in her choices. I don't know if she will ever be able to raise him on her own but for now she is just content living with us and sharing the burden (and JOY) of raising her little boy and we are overjoyed.
Before she could not stand to live with us. Before she did what made Andrea happy, now she thinks about everyone else. It truly is a miracle and I am so thankful. I am so thankful for your prayers and just want you all to keep praying for her. Remember, she is going to do great things for the Lord!
xoxo

Wow Diane it is so wonderful to hear such fabulous news... sometimes we have to let them go before they realize their mistakes... sometimes we have to step back...

All I can say is THANK YOU GOD, YOU ARE SO GOOD! I have not checked in with you in some time now, but yours is the 2nd one tonight I have read where God has answered prayer. Of course, in the good times, we know he does, it's so hard to hold onto that promise when the "devil" has us down.
I can feel your joy in your writing and I am so happy that Dylan and Andrea will discover each other again.
Hugs!

It's been awhile since I checked in and this is such a wonderful thing to read. I can only begin to imagine your joy. Isn't it nice when they find their way home!
Hugs,

I'm so glad to hear how Andrea is doing and I'm praising God with you. (I read Audrey's story too a few weeks ago.)

Diane
A friend led me to your blog and this particular post after I did a post last night about just finding out that a friend of mine is using drugs. I've never had to deal with something like this. I'm so sorry to hear about your "journey" with Andrea, but so happy that things are improving. It gives me hope.
Hugs!
